wow that was heavy!!


In the gym. Does your mind ever wonder when you are there and you really are working out. Your doing what you want and your doing all that you can yet your mind is simply not into what your doing. Yeah, that was me today. 
After leaving my real job I headed out to the Y and taught my Pilates class. 30 min of some kick booty core work. The ladies in class were a little whiney today. I may have been pushing a little hard and didnt realize it. 
After finishing class I took a few min to compose myself and walked out and made a phone call that ended up making me get aggravated. Dont ay hate that?? Have good intentions and it ends up with you irritated and the other person mad too :/ that was today. 
So I picked myself up and walked back in the gym and went through my Day 9 Back/bicep workout for Live Fit. I started off with 70 on my wide grip lat pull downs and ended up doing set 2 and 3 with 80 lbs. Anger works for me I guess… 
Dumbbell row was still at 15 lbs and I held 50 on my seated cable rows. I went from 60 on set 1 of the underhand cable pull downs to 70 lbs! I am strong, I have to remember that and remind myself more often. 
Alternating dumbbell curl was 10 lbs on set 1 and 12 lbs on set 2 and 3. 
One arm dumbbell curl held at 10 lbs for some reason this exercise kind of hurts my elbow…. Hopefully this will get better. 
Now the funny thing about the standing bicep cable curls is set 1 was 30 lbs. I was feeling great about this. When I came around on set 2 I was not paying attention and didn’t move the pin so I did 12 reps at 50 lbs!!!! I must have been nuts! I figured it out on rep 5 but figured ok maybe I can finish with this and not look like a moron:/ well I finished with the 50 and oh my goodness!!! That hurt. A 20 lb. Jump not the best of ideas. So needless to say I went back to my 30 lbs on set 3. It was just enough to make me squeal on rep 10, 11 and 12. Yes I am a girl, I squeal a little. Im sorry I know its a gym, but some times it just comes out! 
I had planned to run home from the Y but being in an ill mood through a workout will tend to change my plans… instead I decided that a nice egg white and avocado omelet sounded better that the run.  So no CARDIO today. But I will get out and run tomorrow, its my day off!! Whoo hoo!!! 
After I ate my lovely omelet this evening I was looking at my hands and realized… crap… I need some weight gloves. I got rips on my hands. So I am gonna be on the search for some really great cute gloves!!  
I know I have talked about the little weight loss challenge that we have going on at my office. We started this week and are going to be keeping up with it for the next 12 weeks. So basically until the 4th of July!! Luckily that means I am gonna be doing this LiveFit for almost the full time. I guess I need to take some pics and show my progress but that is super scary!! So I may have to go slow on this. I decided I really want the office program to be a success so I am gonna try to get the local health food store to donate something and maybe the local GNC and sporting good stores too…. I did secure a free month membership and two 2 week passes to my YMCA for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place “losers” of the contest. So I really want to find some other cute things to go in the basket!! Got any ideas?? Let me know. Help me make this a really cool prize. 
I will run tomorrow!! Gotta get this body ready for a swimsuit!! And a 13.1 mile race:) I want my new tattoo!! Haha!!

  1. You rock!!!! I so wish we lived closer. Miss our workouts. I started doing the Tone It Up Challenge. Day 4 of exercise, day 1 of eating plan. I need to get back to my "fighting weight". Hahaha!!!!!!

  3. Shelly, you can throw in some protein bars. My favorite are the Power Crunch bars by Bionutritional. Good job with your workout!! I'm so proud of you! Doesn't it help to write about it as well. I'm digging the blog! Keep it up!

    1. Jaems, you are my inspiration!!! And i am serious in that!!! I read your blog each day and am more and more motivated each time i do! i haven't don't the protein bars yet but i grabbed a new protein drink today for the work time slump. Thanks for the motivation!!
