me vs. the close push up.... not my friend. YET!!!



So today was the start of week 2 of my LiveFit Trainer, and lets say HOLY CRAP!!!! Me and push ups are not the best of buddies:/   So today was chest and tri’s and I have to admit it may not be my favorite of all the days but I have come to the conclusion that I have to put out maximum effort and I will get to where I want to be. So sayin that again me and the close hand push ups are not buddies. Round one I rocked!! I mean I pushed it out and I got through the whole thing and felt great. Then came round 2. Wide push ups were fine I pushed and pushed and I didn’t blow down. Dumbbell press was rockin cable flys were a bit weak but I made it through. Then…. Close push ups:( I started loosing it at 7. I got through all 12, they were slow, they were not as deep as they should be but I finished. Then on to overhead tricep press and tricep pushdown, they were cake. I feel strong on each of the exercises but the push ups. Round 3 came and went with me struggling right there in the same place. The close hand push ups were the bane of my existence today. But all in all I felt awesome. I was proud of the work I did and happy I finished each of my reps and sets. 
Now to brag just a hair. So last week before I started week 1 I weighed in. I was at 165 lbs. I weighed in yesterday at work and I was still at 165. Now today I walked into the Y and got on the cool little scale that shows weight, BMI, water content, muscle content, Etc. Etc. Etc.  And whoo hooo me I was at 162.5 lbs today!!!  Excited excited excited!!!! 
So I got up this morning and I ate a bowl of oatmeal first off. Then I took my vitamins and drank a big glass of water. I did a second bowl of oatmeal as a snack with pecan and apple pieces in it. Then I flaked. I didn’t eat my lunch when I was supposed to so I grabbed a baby bell light cheese and a snack size hershey’s bar. Had my muscle milk and then I ate a nice turkey salad for dinner. All in all not a bad day. Great workout and if I just choose to forget about the push ups I would give it an A for effort.
